Be your own role model

Be your own role model
Our land has been blessed with such beautiful souls who have made waves in a low tide I’m talking about the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou and Miriam Makeba just to mention a few. We love them and look up to them simply because we idolize them and say they are our role models, what is it about these women that we love? What is it that they possess that you don’t? After all they are ordinary women who were determined to make a change in society and give hope to other women.
As ordinary as you may be but best believe sister you can leave a mark and make a huge difference in society be a household name, trust me you can do it only if you put your mind to it push yourself to do more aim higher! If you can look up to someone and trust in them so much that you actually start calling them your role model than why carry on punishing yourself because you can believe in yourself as much as you believe in other people. Be your own role model starting from today achieve what people said would be impossible to achieve. There’s nothing more rewarding than reaping the fruits of your own labour hard work does pay off, let’s not be sisters who want to be spoon-fed or wait for men to do it for them.

I know sometimes it may be hard we face storms but we can overcome anything if our role models can make it why can’t we make it? Being your own role model doesn’t mean change yourself so that people can be more fond of you or more accepting, but it simply means accept yourself, carry yourself in a manner that comes across as being confident, fierce and loving. Have your own unique personality but in order to have that you need to know yourself inside out and not be tamed that’s how our role models made it! They all have something unique about them and they owned it, so why can’t we figure ourselves out? know who we are what we possess and just own it? Accept criticism from people it makes you stronger accept failure because when you get up you’ll know where to improve wear your scars because they make you fierce and confident, Woman of colour be your own role model!!

  1. Preach sister preach the problem with us women sometimes is that we bash each other so much that we don't actually see the good that we posses inside of us we, we depend on men to tell us how we good we are, thank you for the great article miss mtanase

    1. It's time to be independent and actually embrace what we have been blessed with as women
